Auto Updating apps in Android 2.2/Froyo.

21 May

I just love the idea of auto updating apps in android 2.2 both from the perspectives of the developer and a user. As a developer this will help me make sure all of the users of my app are on the same version. As a user I don’t have to care about updates any more, less work for me and every thing should just work.

Iranians are being played.

21 Jun

I just want to say this on the record: Iranians think that they are fighting for the truth and that they are on the right track, BUT they are being played, Khomeini is right. Average iranians are as stupid as average americans, propoganda, mass propoganda

Frustrated with iPhone, happy with android

28 May

I applied to the Apple’s iPhone developer program about a month ago, I did not recieve a reply for about 3 weeks. When they did ask me to send some documents, I had a few questions which again are waiting for a reply. So I told them to cancel my request to join the iPhone developer program. Seems like they dont need any more people writing software for iPhone. I can basically agree with that, so many new apps are coming to the Apple app store every day now, making it pretty easy for an application to fall into oblivion and go un noticed. So seems like I will probably hack my iPod and move to Cydia store.

However android has been a totally different story, first of I just love the android sdk, its so much better/affordable and easier to use, I had to buy a mac mini just to be able to run the iphone sdk ( i might sell it now, with no more plans to target iphone ), unlike iphone I dont have to learn a new language, Objective-C is one of the most idiotic things I have ever seen. Java syntax is easy, eclipse is familiar, the documentation is simple and to the point. Unlike Apple I didnt have to wait for weeks with Google, I got access in just a couple of days ( that too because of weekend ). So seems like my android development days are going to start.

Still the QT port for symbian is taking too much time, and I cant  publish apps for Symbian/Nokia Ovi store unless I register a company, lets just hope that Nokia sorts those things out soon.

Benazir in the West.

27 Dec

It has been one year to her death, when she was killed the western media was “shocked” . In the west she is considered as a very good person, who did a lot for Pakistan, and ultimately paid this with her life. Which agains proves that they dont know shit, and that they only like those people who agree with their agendas, this brain washing has been so effective that almost all the common people in West believe like so. Benazir may god bless her soul, but she was not a good leader for Pakistan, she was not a saint and infact under her rule there was a lot of corruption. Pakistan did not deserve to be ruled by her. Pakistan deserves a leader who can rival Salah ud Din.

Monkeys feeling pitty for the lions

26 Dec

While the lion was drunk the monkeys took over, and now they think they are kings of a temporary jungle, they feel pity for the lions. The monkeys love the mortal life and are intoxicated in this life.

Translating Facebook to Urdu

24 Dec

So I saw this translation link in Facebook, and to my amazement I found out that Facebook provides excellent tools to translate the core terms. Not only that a lot of people from Pakistan were already acting and helping translate Facebook to urdu. Even though Facebook is not such an important site which needs an urdu translation, but what I am trying to say here is that Facebook provides an excellent interface for translating the content. So technology and making things easy really do make a difference:

Peshawar hit by a deadly blast, dozens of people killed

06 Dec

from Aljazeera

At least 20 people have been killed and at least 80 injured by a bomb placed near a Shia mosque in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province.

from BBC

At least 27 people have been killed and scores injured in a suspected car bombing in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar, police say.

These things make me so sad and now more angry then ever, these stupid illeterate taliban should be wiped out from every cave they are hiding in. They will surely burn in hell who ever is killing these innocent people. Enough is enough, people of Pakistan need to take action now. All these fundamentalists or more like illeterate brain washed idiots should be thrown out of the country, send them to Afghanistan where they belong.

Also today American missle strike killed three people so not only are Taliban killing people in Pakistan but also the Americans. Pakistani leadership should develop some backbone. When ever you look at any picture of Zardari like here it seems that he is so happy that he has fooled the whole nation. Such a big crook became president of a poor nation.

Halal eating in Helsinki: Kebabistan

29 Nov

If you are in a mood to eat meat then you should go to Kebabistan its very close to the kammpi station. The best time to go is during the lunch hours, you can check their web site for the timmings. During the lunch hours they have a buffet, where they serve kebabs, sometimes beef, sometimes chicken, along with some seafood and vegeterian stuff. The kebabs are always halal, but you should ask for chicken or beef. I thought their kebabs were really good, specially when are just off the grill thing, for 8€ I think its a very good place to go.  The name is pretty funky, Kebabistan like Pakistan, hehe.

The guys there are turkish and were very friendly with us, when we told then we were from Pakistan, they were even more happy. I liked this place. But you may or may not, I sure would recommend this.
